17 things you can get done in ONE weekend in Boston

Let me start by saying that this trip was a surprise. It was spontaneous. It was a freaking blast.

I tagged along with my sister, my best friend and my soul mate. Which are all, as a matter of fact, the same wonderful person.

These are the 17 things you absolutely HAVE to do while in Boston, even if it’s just for a weekend:

1. Visit Harvard

Ok, so it’s not Boston per se, but it’s Harvard. HARVARD. Or, as they say over there, HAHVAHD.

2. Walk the Freedom Trail

The streets have a differentiated brick line that literally show you the way around the important historical places that led to the Independence of the United States.
All you have to do is follow the not-quite-so-yellow-but-still-pretty-obvious brick road.

3. Go downtown

There are some events around here, street entertainers and a lot of bustling activity. It’s a fun and eclectic experience.

4. Grab a bite to eat at Quincy Market

At first, it looks like a gigantic hallway filled with delicious goodness. And basically, that’s exactly what it is.
Quincy Market is one of the places where your only problem will be choosing WHAT to eat, because everything looks delicious.

5. Go to the docks rolling-vibes-boston-11

The docks are beautiful, and even more so when you realize that the Massachusetts Bay is a direct connection to the Atlantic Ocean. And if you go around sunset or once the moon rises, the views will be simply breathtaking.

6. Have a Boston Tea Party

The Boston Tea Party Museum is a must when visiting this wonderfully colonial city.
And drink Tea at Alice’s Teahouse inside the museum.

7. Feel tiny beneath the gigantic flag at the Boston Harbor Hotel

Yup, that’s me. And I do feel tinny tiny.

8. Have breakfast at Henrietta’s Table

It is simply delicious. Scrumptious. And sooooo good. You’ll find it inside Charles Hotel in Cambridge. For more information, visit their webpage.

9. Visit MIT

CANCER CURING IVY LEAGUE UNIVERSITY. You feel smarter just walking through its halls.

10. Get some lobster (or Clam Chowder)

We highly recommend Boston Chowda inside Quincy Market. You’ll know you’re in the right place when the line stretches out over half an hour wait.

11. Grab a beer (and a burger) at a college bar

Or pub. Or restaurant. Or whatever they call themselves these days. We went to Grafton Street Pub & Grill, and it was amazingly delicious.

12. Pick up leaves and throw them around like an idiot

There’s no more to say. I know we did.

Boston is an amazing place where both the past and the present live. Its colonial architechture, its urban design and its technological advancements make it a wonderful place to travel to.

And you should, definitely, keep it in your travel bucket list.
