Alonso Ariño El Drifter rode his first dirt bike when he was only FIVE YEARS OLD!
Believe it or not. It all started with his family – both his parents are speed lovers, and his brother was already a competing champion when he set out on the same adventure.
“I always wanted to be like him.” – El Drifter Alonso Ariño
Alonso Ariño El Drifter was motivated to practice the sport by his father.
“He has always supported me even in our worst days.”
“Motocross has made me who I am right now – I think becoming a professional in any sport makes you a more mature, disciplined and focused person.”
And of course, nothing good ever comes without a little sacrifice. He remembers clearly all his friends going to parties and him staying home because he had to train at 7 a.m. the next morning.
Riding his KTM SXF 350 2016 bike he managed to obtain 4 national championships, 6 Latin American titles, 7th place at a world championship race in Mexico, a silver medal after a 6-day race in Portugal, and a gold medal at a 6-day race in Mexico.
He has raced professionally in Portugal, Honduras, Venezuela, Guatemata and United States, and has been sponsored by KTM, Suzuki, Potenza Motorsports, DC Shoes, Spy Optics, Red Bull and Sidi Boots.
He’s currently taking a break from riding professionally in order to finish his studies, but even that can’t keep him away from taking his bike out with his friends.
To all future rides – or motocross fans – he’d like to state that bikes are not dangerous if you used right, so keep riding, training and chasing your dreams!
