It’s sort of a magic formula: Exercise + Healthy diet = Better YOU 🙂

Think of your body as a car, you need to put some fuel to start the engine in order for it to take you wherever you want to go. That’s basically our body – we need to have as much fuel as our body needs, which depends on age, workout level and daily activities.

So if you’re an athlete – or just want to start eating healthier, these are the 6 items you MUST keep in the fridge:

1. Fish

SALMONProtein is one of the most valuable ingredients your body must recover after a massive workout. Fish not only has a high amount of protein, but also offers Omega-3, which helps with the blood flow to our muscles, which means more oxygen in our body and nutrients sent to every corner.

If you’d like to know what kind, then tuna and salmon are the top recommendations.

2. Eggs

EGG

The trustworthry eggs. They’re a high protein food with all you need to start a brand new day! Because it has so much protein, this is one of the best foods to start seeing changes in your muscle mass.

Get those biceps growing with a daily moderate intake of eggs!

3. Poultry and beef

CHICKEN

As you can see in almost every athlete meal plan, chicken breast is a classic feature. With very low fat and very high protein amounts, this food basically puts in 20 grams of protein with only 100 grams of chicken breast intake.

If you eat all kinds of color meat, then red meat provides adequate amounts of iron and oxygen to your body and blood, similar to eggs.

4. Tofu

TOFU

Tofu is great for anyone who wishes to keep up with a lighter diet, or even a vegetarian regime. It provides at least 15 grams of protein for every 100 grams. You might think that tofu is really plain in flavor, but the thing with good and healthy diets is to play around with your ingredients and find the perfect combo.

And tofu is not only about protein, because it also carries lots of minerals like magnesium, iron, calcium and potassium.

5. Hot pepper sauce

VALENTINA

Arriba la SALSA! Believe it or not, hot sauces are the eternal fountain of youth. According to the British Medical Journal, this is the perfect seasoning for all the foods listed above, because it saves calories and helps you live longer!

Make yourself look hotter with some delicious salsa, be it Valentina, Tabasco, Srichacha or whatever strikes your fancy.

6. Beer

Oh yeah, babies! Beer, in moderation, will provide essential minerals like calcium and phosphorus.  Just keep in mind that alcohol = calories, so we recommend the non-alcoholic kind.
