Walking down the streets of Mexico City, we found this tinny, tiny entrance:
Being the curious souls we are, we decided to go in. After climbing tons of stairs, we arrived at this rooftop:
Balmori Rooftop Bar.
With a chic industrial style, this place is decorated with building bricks while it’s surrounded with beautiful views all along the windows.
And its menus have the lovely designs that speak of the care they make all the food with.
And the food? DELICIOUS.
These are the “Papitas Cambray”, a great mix of potatoes cooked with alioli sauce and truffle oil, topped with mouth-melting parmesan cheese.
Just look at them.
Then we got some breaded octopus.
It was heaven. Pure, unadulterated heaven.
It even has a flower in it.
Next up: tostaditas de atún.
Fresh tuna, raddish and cilantro dressing decorated with buganvillea flowers.
We were getting thirsty, so our waitress recommended the Balmori Gin.
Made with Tanqueray gin, red fruits and a limeade mix made with tonic water, it was simply delicious and refreshing.
After, being a wee bit peckish, we chose the Tiradito de Mango and Tajín.
Fish, mango, tajín and plantain in one single dish.
We also got a thin crust pizza with asparragus and delicious melted cheese.
Mmm-mmm-mmm.
And for a golden finish, we got a carajillo:
Coffee and brandy have never gone so well together.
We had a lovely time in this amazing rooftop bar, and will definitely be returning soon. Especially because they also host DJ parties at night!
You’ll find this cosmopolitan cocktail bar at Zacatecas 139 at the Roma Norte Colony.
This is a wonderful place for great food and amazing cocktails. Balmori Rooftop Bar is hard to find, but it’s worth all the effort.
Keep rolling till you find something you love…
