If you’re looking for a new place to visit, consider India. With so many reasons to visit, it makes perfect sense to choose it as your next destination – and, best of all, anyone can visit. Here are some reasons why.
It’s accessible
One of the best things about India is that anyone can visit and explore comfortably – it’s one of the most accessible countries in the world. From the laidback serenity and slow pace of Kolkata to the energy and vibrancy of Delhi, India’s capital, nowhere is off limits.
If you’re a disabled traveller, you’ll be amazed at just how easy it is to get around. Consider the aforementioned cities to get the full India experience – they’re the two biggest and best cities in the country. Make sure you take the time to visit the landmarks, too – despite the Taj Mahal’s popularity, it’s a sight you simply have to see for yourself.
It’s diverse
From the bustle of India’s cities to the remote mountain towns tucked away within the Himalayas, there’s simply no denying India’s diversity. It has something for everyone, whether you’re bringing the whole family, escaping with your significant other or simply seeing the world alone – you’ll never get bored.
If it is a family holiday you’re after, consider escaping to one of India’s wondrous national parks for a safari of a lifetime – after all, India is the only country in the world where you’ll be able to see tigers and lions coexisting in the wild. Travelling as a couple? Head to Goa, where you’ll discover luscious sandy beaches and a culturally rich city to boot.
The food is amazing
Wherever you are in India, you’ll find every destination has one thing in common – incredible food. From fragrant, rich curries to sweet treats, India’s cuisine is plentiful, diverse and always delectable.
Be sure to try the street food in India’s cities. Delhi is perhaps the best place for it, street vendors serving up some of the best dishes you’ll find in the country. Paneer has to be tried, the Indian cheese serving as the basis for many divine meals you’ll taste in India. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a light snack, India’s street food is where you’ll find it.
It has beautiful architecture
From the aforementioned wonder of the Taj Mahal to other great feats such as the Red Fort, India has no shortage of incredible, beautiful architecture to be discovered. Head to Kolkata and you’ll find the Victoria Memorial, a majestic, stately building constructed from marble, not far removed from the Taj Mahal itself.
There are even some hidden sights you may not have even known about which are worthy of a visit – did you know, for example, there’s a Great Wall of India? Tucked away in the wilderness, this expansive, secretive creation was only recently discovered, and is yet to be seen by many travellers who visit the country.
It’s rich in culture and history
If you’re the kind of traveller who really likes to immerse themselves in their surroundings, India is the place for you. There’s culture abound, from the plenty of festivals held every year to the historical museums and landmarks to explore – there’s no doubt India will teach you a thing or two about life, leaving you with a brand-new outlook.
