Saturday night, and cocktails are in order. At least that’s how it worked out for us last week!
We decided to hit up Limantour, a bar specialized in fancy and original cocktails.
Upon arrival, you can sit inside, where it’s warm and cozy and close to the DJ, or you can enjoy the cool breeze of the terrace with some friends.
And of course, we couldn’t wait to try out the cocktails as soon as we got there!
First one up: Lassi Orwell.
Don’t let the milk jar or the colorful umbrella fool you – this drink is made up of gin, Galiano, lime juice, Greek yogurt, honey syrup, mango, turmeric and cardamom. It might look like a milkshake – but there’s ~alcohol~ in it. BEST. MILKSHAKE. EVER.
Our second drink: Estación Jalisco
This one, served in a peculiar wooden tiki-style glass contained tequila, Oporto, lime juice, puréed mamey, cardamom syrup, and Angostura Bitters, all decorated with lemon wedges and an edible flower.
Third up: Florero Atlántico
Literally translates to: Atlantic Flower Vase, and it certainly lives up to the name. Served in a fish-shaped ceramic container, this drink has gin, Martini Rosato infused with bougainvillea flower, yellow lime juice, suryp made up of grapefruit peels and Campari. It’s decorated with a grapefruit wedge, peppermint and bouganvilleas.
Fourth: Coconut Sling
A gorgeous mixture of gin and Becherovka (a famous Czech liquor), lime and pineapple juice, and decorated with a slice of drieg pineapple and a cherry.
But don’t let yourself be fooled: drinks are not the only thing that’s amazing at this joint.
The “patatas bravas” are a thing to die for, all salted in lime, salt and pepper.
After munching a little (okay, a LOT), the fifth drink was Tahona Punch:
Tequila, Campari, sweet Vermouth, pineapple juice and cinnamon syrup. De-lish.
We also asked for the “house gin”, a mixture of gin, Becherovka, and rosemary.
And we can say it was amazing.
And in case one of you needs to wake up, their “carajillo” is pretty darn irresistible.
Coffee and alcohol go really well together. Like, romance novel well.
Next up: 7 Hours
Made up of green Chartreuse, rosemary syrup, lime juice, cactus bitter and egg whites, this drink comes decorated with nutmeg and salicornia.
And last but DEFINITELY not least, the Berry Collins:
By far, our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. This delicious cocktail consists of mashed red fruits, vodka, and lime juice. It is a wonderful and refreshing alcoholic smoothie. You will not regret it.
Also, another reason not to miss out on this bar is that it’s the first one to serve high end cocktails made from tea!
So if you’re looking for a night out on the town with delicious drinks, you can find this place at Oscar Wilde 9, Polanco, Mexico City.
Bottoms up and cheers!
Keep rolling ‘til you find something you love…
