Venice is the ultimate charming and romantic destination. It is a place of wonder – I mean, how can a city simply float peacefully over water?
Its streets replaced by the blue liquid of a lagoon? Its quaint buildings, all a promise from a different time?
To us, it’s truly one of the most beautiful places on this Earth.
We walked across the Piazza San Marcos, both wanting to run away and chase some pigeons.
There are thousands.
We also took in the views the campanile and the lovely summer sun played before us.
And how beautiful the Palazzo Ducale looks next to the bell tower.
The gondole are a romantic feast for the eyes, floating gently among the water.
A tip for the travelers on a budget!
Ride the gongola that crosses the Grand Canal – it costs only about €2 per person and you can get a tiny experience for a minimal cost! (That’s what we did, and we even snatched a picture with the gondolero. He didn’t sing for us, though).
And imagine moving from one place to another in a vaporetto or a private boat. Bravo!
I mean, LOOK at these views.
Just look at them.
We crossed all over Venice and found this church on the other side of the islands.
It’s called Chiesa di San Giorgio Maggiore.
We stayed there to drink up the sunset in all its glory.
And to enjoy the views the church’s surrounding provided…
And maybe kiss a little.
Afterwards, we enjoyed the reflections the night lights play upon the canals.
Lovely, beautiful Venetian nighttime.
And OF COURSE we had pizza!
It’s Italy, after all.
We also payed a visit to the lovely colors of Burano, a nearby city. Check our post here!
We had a romantic, lovely blast.
