“Photography helps people to see.”
-Berenice Abbott
Joel Rojas, a 24 year-old Mexican photographer born in Coahuila, has been delighting the world with his amazing pictures.
As an industrial designer, Joel has always been extremely visual, so he was always been observant of his surroundings, willing to take advantage of every potential element in the atmosphere.
He lived abroad in New Zealand, where he started a collection called Reacciones (Reactions).
“New Zealand is a fantastic magic land that charms every soul with its fantastic diversity of astonishing landscapes and breathtaking green lands.”
And boy, is he right!
Joel likes to photograph everything he can, because “every place has something worth showing”.
Photography transports him into a state of introspection, where he can understand himself, his surroundings and his world.
“It becomes interesting when you manage to capture the intimacy of the moment…”
His visual focus in centered more on what it could be, rather than on what it actually is.
“I love photographing everything – from an object to a sunset, because everything that’s behind a lens can teach you an immense amount of things”.
