Take a dive and swim in these famous rivers!

If you’re one of those people who wants to jump in every puddle of water to swim, is 2024 going to be the hit for you!

How about a dip in the Seine? The plans for the French capital’s famous river is to make it swimmable by 2024, just in time for the Olympics.

Paris’s mayor, Anne Hidalgo, hopes to change the murky and toxic river into a suitable place where one desires nothing else than to don a bathing suit and jump in!

This project aims to attract the 2024 Olympics to Paris, so that athletes can swim across this beautiful city all throughout the Siene.

Taking Hidalgo’s sustainable and promotional mentality, we can expect big changes from other European cities, who owe their rivers a proper clean up.

Maybe it could be…

One glimpse is more than enough to distinguish the brown color of the water. This is obviously not a river you would take a dip in… and if you do your homework you’ll find that thousands of people lost their lives in the river becasue of cholera outbreaks.

It might look beautiful and pretty, given as well that this city is the first one to be completely bike-ridden. But, believe it or not, the canals are not very clean.

Ranging from TVs to abandoned boats, waste is usually found under the surface.

One of the largest rivers in Italy will definitely come up in this list. It would be great to swim across this ancient city trying to recreate how was life in those times. But, please, don’t do it! At least not yet. This river has been polluted since the Roman Empire!

That’s one of the reasons the aqueduct construction started – frequent diseases caused by polluted water.

We just hope that Hidalgo´s initiative goes well in the future, and can bring the best for our rivers… because in the end we are all brothers living in a big house called Earth.

Keep rolling till you find something you love…
